Gaming

Filed under: gaming — Matthew Glover @ 5:12 pm

After a long and empty interval, I shut down my other blog and moved the entries from it to a new gaming category over here. If you’re only here for the martial arts stuff, you can just bookmark the kung fu category page and safely ignore the rest. Outside of Feng Shui games, those sections don’t interact.

Third Thursday

So when Sam got home from the vet (after being hit by the car), I skipped class the first Thursday of this month to stay home and make sure he would be okay. So I missed sparring. I also didn’t get to spar at all last month because we were preparing for testing.

And then I somehow forgot that yesterday was the third Thursday of the month and so didn’t take my sparring gear to class. Gah.

At least we got to spend the time working on the empty hand throw from this level and playing around with cane techniques.

Never mind.

Edit: This post was imported from Point of Play, my gaming blog, which I’ve collapsed into this one.

Okay, so this didn’t really pan out. I’m thinking that I’ll probably just add a Gaming category at my other blog and have this URL redirect there. If you’re reading via the RSS feed, you’ll want to delete this subscription and subscribe to this one, unless you want to get the whole blog fu feed. I’ll probably copy these posts over there just to get things started.

To finish up old business, we finished up Oasis and it went pretty well, all things considered. I think we’d have been better off if we’d gone for a more episodic treatment rather than a heavy story arc. Even more than that, though, I think that for the number of players (6, counting me as the producer) we really should’ve done a 9 episode season rather than a 5 ep, but nobody wanted to commit to that many games the first time out. Honestly, we had trouble even doing five episodes due to some horrendous scheduling issues. I’m looking forward to playing Primetime Adventures again, possibly as a one-shot to introduce it to more people.
